The flowers are excellent for cutting. It has dark green deciduous foliage. The crinkled round leaves turn yellow in fall. The twisted dark brown bark and brown branches are extremely showy and add significant winter interest. Landscape Attributes Harry Lauder's Walking Stick is a multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with a more or less rounded form. Its relatively coarse texture can be used to stand it apart from other landscape plants with finer foliage. This is a high maintenance shrub that will require regular care and upkeep, and is best pruned in late winter once the threat of extreme cold has passed.
